Frédéric Debenghale & Guillaume Lozès

Call it fate or serendipity, but ever since they met on the same university bench Frederic Debenghale and Guillaume Lozès shared a common interest in fashion. Their paths went in different directions for some time: after studying law, Frederic started a career with a large company as a Customer Service Manager. In parallel, he dedicated his spare time to clothes and design, developing ancillary skills, such as drawing and silk-screening. Guillaume went further into the university world earning a PhD Degree in Literature, specializing in Francophone and Comparative Studies. Both their taste of fashion is influenced by their own sensitivities. Frederic enjoys capturing creative codes while intertwining African and European moods in his designs. Guillaume keeps a very close look at the artistic scenes, especially with regard to literature and fashion. He enjoys letting himself drift to the flow of creative forces, as a process to understand the underpinnings of creation, and how much it reveals of our social codes, trends and elaborate systems.

In 2006, Frederic decided to give it a go and started OMPE, a clothing company that should reflect his personal commitment with social issues. Fair trade was the only possible and natural way that would fit his aspirations. Guillaume was also the natural partner to associate with his project…and so the story started! The solid team made of artistic designer Frederic and his fellow Commercial Manager Guillaume was the initial heartbeat of OMPE.
